[Q] Safestrap installed - unresponsive touch screen on bootup topic

Hello,

I have a Verizon S4 (SCH i545) that is rooted with towelroot. I've installed Safestrap 3.72 and was able to successfully get rid of the stock ROM and install Eclipse instead. The problem:

After each bootup my touch screen is unresponsive. There is literally nothing I can do using the screen. Volume, home, and power buttons still work. It was no big deal up to a point, I just put the phone to sleep and then on again and that seemed to work. But now the power button refuses to turn the screen off, although long-pressing it does bring up the power options. I've been resetting my phone each time and that fixes the problem (as in, I can turn on/off the screen to enable the touchscreen again), however it gets rid of all my apps and settings. Eventually I'm back to square one on the next reboot.

Waiting a while will not turn off the touch screen. Right now not even safestrap itself is responsive, which means (according to my own "method") I will need to do a complete reset using the phone's own reset option.

Any ideas?

Hi guys, while updating the firmware my son has removed the battery, the starting of the engine is not working the touch, I tried to do the hard reset and update the official firmware from Kies, then I tried with Odin, but nothing to do what.

Ok so I am new to this so please excuse the ignorance. So I replaced my touch screen digitizer put everything back together and worked :). But after a few a weeks the touch screen just stopped working. So I wiped the data and still no response. Do I need to do a firmware update. This is pretty frustrating. Any input would be good thanks for looking and your time.

Backup/Export SMS from Three In Touch app? topic

I need to factory reset my phone (Samsung Galaxy S4 - Android 4.4.2 Phoenix ROM), but need to save the SMS messages from Three In Touch as I need to refer to them later. How can I backup or export these messages so that I can retain access to them following a factory reset?
I use Three In Touch exclusively for SMS as I have no signal from my normal weekday location, and none of my SMS's are being mirrored in the primary SMS app.

Request for Touch Recovery Help - Inwatch Z topic

I would really like to create a custom touch based recovery for the Inwatch Z Smartwatch, using MTK6572 but I am still very ignorant on how to do so. The MTK scatter I included below seems to reference EMMC. The recovery.img I included is 6,144 KB.

I know the Omate TrueSmart Smartwatch has a working touch based recovery and uses the same processor, so it should be possible.. but I was wondering if anyone here knows how I might go about such an attempt.

Lost home touch buttons topic

Hi. Well, I have screwed up my phone. I'm on the VS980. I went into the verizon hidden menu to fix my iffy knock on ( knock off good). I already did the update touch firmware thing but knock on still iffy. I had read doing an aat partial test helped someone so I went through the hidden menu looking for that option. I remember tapping device test( which asked me to reboot), elt test, settings, and enable/disable under the knock on option. I lost the home touch buttons after that. There is no option for home touch in the settings menu anymore. I have restored nandroid, wiped dalvik, system, data, cache and reinstalled Optimus rom, and I restored an old backup of Home. But the home touch buttons never come back. Help!!?

[Q] Dead touch strip after leaving on desk? topic

This is a weird one;
I'm a developer so naturally all my devices are plugged in lying on the desk, this Nexus 4 used to be my day-to-day phone, I got it on release from Google Play.

Within the first two weeks I got it I was commuting on the London Underground and it was a crammed train, so I got squashed and my Nexus 4 was crushed, adding a crack to the top of the back of the phone, I was upset but didn't think anything of it as it was cosmetic damage, so I bought the Google bumper for it and I've been happy since.

Today, device lying on desk, I use it daily for work, lying on the desk plugged in, today I was testing the a website with the browser and then I put it down, pick it up again and suddenly the T on the soft keyboard doesn't work, it only worked when I turned it to landscape.

I got a touch test app and it turns out I have a dead vertical strip from the bottom of the phone to the top that completely covers the T key on the Google keyboard.
Incredibly annoying.

Called up LG, they were organising the in-warranty repair, then they asked if there is any other damage, I mentioned that there is cosmetic damage at the back of the device from January 2013, but the device has been perfectly fine until just a moment ago.
At this, the help guy said because it has damage it is no longer in warranty. Great.

• Is there a known software fix for this?


• Is the warranty really voided from cracks on the back of the phone?


• Do I need to repair it myself?


• Does Google Play have a service to handle this or is it all through LG?

I'm a bit annoyed as it happened so spontaneously, and this crack on the back of the phone has meant it's been out of warranty nearly since I bought it.

D800 convert in d802..NO touch working....plz help topic

Guyz im stuck in very ****ed up condition

Problem starts when i flash D802 kdz and then my phones goes to hard brick condition...i opened my phone and i find that my phone in D800...i revive my phone through ubuntu method and flashed D800 laf,aboot and boot...

So now my phone must have to go in download mode but it not goes in download mode instead it goes into fastboot mode..

i flashed again boot,aboot and laf in fastboot but again same condition..one thing came my mind and i flashed D802 aboot boot and laf and oorahhhhh and my phone on and goes to Home screen but coz of covert in D802 my phone touch not working....touch works but some places for example if i click on msg icon it clicks on status bar ...

but i cant flash D800 ToT coz No recovery no Download mode is showing...i flash autorecovery of d802 and again goes to fastboot mode...

guyz im totally out of my mind after all this...plz give me some suggestion

I have seen this phone a lot... The alcatel one touch scribe but it seems like there are no compatible themes and worse of all... There isnt any update for thid after the 4.2 androidm does anyone know what i can use to either upgrade the firmware or simply get a rom ? My alcatel is already rooted... Thanks.

Touch screen doesn't work when device woken up (Intermittent) topic

I've got an intermittent problem - sometimes when I wake the phone up, the touch screen doesn't work. It happens when I wake it up with the power button, when someone calls, or when an alarm wakes up the screen. That means when the problem happens, I can't answer the call, or turn off the alarm (sometimes locking the screen and waking it up immediately works).

It doesn't seem to be affected by whether or not the phone is or has been charging, whether it's been in my pocket or the temperature of the device. I've not been able to discern a pattern at all. Once the phone is unlocked and the touchscreen is working though, it works perfectly. The problem never returns while I'm using it, only if I lock it, and only sometimes.

If I leave the screen on while touch is unresponsive, I can tell when it is responsive to touch again by a line that quickly flashes along the top edge of the screen. At that point, the screen operates entirely normally.

In what may be a related item, when I'm on a call, sometimes the proximity sensor doesn't work properly and the screen turns back on and starts working. I get off the call and find my phone in a different app.

Does the Nexus 5 use the proximity sensor while the screen is off as a way to weed out unintended touches while the phone is in a pocket?

I'm going to try and store it face up over the next couple of weeks and see if the problem continues, but I was hoping that someone might have some insight.

About the phone:
I cracked the screen over the summer and had it replaced, but I didn't have any issues with it at all until I installed Lollipop. 5.0.1 hasn't made a difference

Simple Two issues here

the first
my tab hardware support 2g only but ....... Setting-->Wireless&Network-->More-->Mobile networks has an option "Preferred network type" which can be changed to 3g , this causes Major system Error. i want to modify this Mobile networks sub menu and hide "Preferred network type" ,,,,,,,,, i tried editing system.apk but i succeeded only in hiding the root menu "Mobile networks" ,, how to remove any item in "Mobile networks" ?? what's apk file that should be edited?

i used to fix this issue in allwinner in bootloader script.bin .... but this tab is quallcomm msm series no script.bin i can't even find ko file of the touch in system partition to replace it with another one ,,, how to fix this issue ??? and where can i find the ko file of the touch in such tablet ?? ...... the driver detected in getevent "FT5XXXX"
