Cannot paste text topic

Hi all, I'm using a Z1 compact and have problems copying & pasting text. Copying is weird enough (double tap instead of long tap as in EVERY other android device), but still doable. Pasting is a no go for me, I don't know how to perform it. Normally on other android phone I just long tap the field and the menu would come up allowing me to paste, but now If I long tap an empty field, it just gives me the magnifying glass icon. Even if I try entering some dummy text then double tapping it, it stills show a menu with ONLY 3 button: Select all, Copy and Cut. No Paste button. What the heck??? Any help is appreciated.

Can't read multiple text messages? topic

We have two moto 360s. On one of them it seems to be impossible to actually read received text messages if you receive more than one text from the same person.

Instead of displaying the text of the messages, the notification on the watch will just say the sender's name and "2 text messages received" with no apparent way to view the messages. If you catch the notification when only one text has been received, you can read the single text just fine.

On the other moto 360, it just displays all of the received texts, and doesn't summarize them with a count. That is, you can just keep scrolling down and can read all of the texts in a big list.

The watch having the problem is running 5.01 android wear connected to a Note 4 with android 4.4.4.

The watch that lets you actually read the text messages is running 4.4W.2 android wear and is connected to a Note 3 with android 4.4.2.

Anyone have any ideas? Is this something that just works better on the older software? Not being able to actually read the text messages on the moto 360 breaks one of the major functions of the device!

Failed text messages appear only after phone restart topic

Hi all,

I run into an intermittent problem where I see some 'messages not sent' errors after restarting my phone. However, I clearly recall that the messages looked like they were sent fine when I had composed them and hit send.

I'm on T-Mobile if that makes any difference, using the Moto G LTE.

Any ideas if there's a way for me to catch these failed messages sooner rather than later? Perhaps I should use Hangouts to as my default Messaging app? Maybe Lollipop will improve this when it arrives in an OTA update? Anyone else have this problem too?

For some unknown cause, my t999 just stopped receiving sms messages. Doesn't matter what rom I'm using, stock or aosp gets the same results, I've flashed stock through mobile odin, no go, flashed aosp, still no go, flashed stock via Odin on pc and it still won't get messages, my s3 sometimes recieves them at random Intervals during the day and all at once. Sometimes I don't even recieve them at all and has been a major issue for me for the past 5 days now, any assistance in finding the cause of this problem would be gladly appreciated. Oh and it's all a clean flashed, wiped even the internal sdcard

Moto Voice and Hangouts - Outgoing text uses stock messenger topic

I think I found a bug with Moto Voice.

When you use Moto Voice to send a text, it sends the text from the stock messenger app even when hangouts is set as the default SMS app.
It only happens when you use voice commands to send text. It could be through either Moto Voice or OK Google.
Another issue I've found that it it sends out my carrier number rather than my Google voice number?

Anyone else having a similar issue? I'm guessing it's more of an issue with Google than Moto Voice.

Text Message and Wifi calling On topic

I have the T-Mobile Variant and was wondering if anyone else had this problem. I turn on the Wifi calling since my signal is low where I live at. But when I try to send out a Text message, I keep getting an error immediately that it fails to send. So I turned off wifi calling and then the text message goes thru. Weird but was wondering if there is a fix for this? I spoke to a T-Mobile rep and she couldn't figure out the problem either. I do like the Wifi calling feature but if I need to send a text message I have to turn off the wifi calling every time. Any ideas? Thanks in advance! :confused:

also happens on the SM-P605 tablet with 4.4 firmware so this is a global bug....

Hide Carrier Text on Status Bar? topic

Anyone figured out a way to do this? I could've sworn GravityBox had an option for this but it does not. It seems to me the only modules that allow this option are device specific ie Sense, G2Tweaks, etc.

Can't send international text messages in lollipop?? topic

I'm hoping someone has a way to help me untie my balls from this Google cock up.
I pay for an international texting plan from T-Mobile.
I used to be able to send international text messages via hangouts until lollipop.
Firstly, I'm sick of hangouts constantly asking if i want to send the text via my Google voice number or my carrier. I've tried to default this to no avail. Even when i select my carrier number, I'm informed i am not allowed to send international text? WTF?
So I called the geniuses at Google. Can you believe that after all the work they did to centralized hangouts as the default app (which I like - it's helpful to have both text and voicemail from each contact in one place), no specific support team exists?? Instead they have a general help number, and they don't know much more than anyone doing a Google search. In fact he had to search for his suggestion to open the Google voice app and "opt out" of hangouts for SMS, which I did. This makes hangouts a paperweight, and now the default SMS app is Google voice, an ugly archaic looking thing that clearly they are in the process of phasing out. Anyways, i checked my settings in Google voice and the default number was my carrier number, so tried sending an international text (the UK, definitely a supported country in my plan), and was once again informed that i could not send international text messages?? WTF?
Google is a global company, they should know that people move around the world and need to send text messages. This never used to be a problem, why the international cock block all of a sudden?
Appreciate any suggestions or workarounds, but this will be my last Google phone if they expect me to jump thru hoops to use services that I'm paying for and which are hardly cutting edge!

Remove Ok google(Not just the text) topic

I'm not a fan of google feeling the need to listen to everything I say. I did search for this, but all I'm coming up with is people wanting to disable the "Ok google" text on the screen. I'd like to disable to feature all together, but it doesn't seem there is an option anywhere. Am I missing something or do you need a custom rom to get rid of this crap? Thanks guys!

I work at a Cricket Wireless store, and generally can fix any issues customer's are having with their phones. I am not a developer by any means, but I can do basic things. Flashing a custom ROM, for example, isn't difficult for me. (Just to give you an idea of experience level). But I am trying to help someone at the moment and I am at a loss.
My customer is a Sikhism priest (forgive me if that is not worded correctly), and he needs a religious text on his device known as the Adi Granth. Up until recently, he had an app called Gur Gyan (link below) that displayed his text in his native language (Punjabi/Gurmukhi). He did an update recently, and now it will not work. However, I'm not sure whether he just updated the app, or if he updated his device, as he is now running Lollipop 5.0.
He has a Google Nexus 4. I tried viewing a webpage which displays Punjabi text, and it worked, making me think that his device does still support the Punjabi font. I could be mistaken though. Below is a screenshot of what the text actually looks like.
There are plenty of Adi Granth alternatives, the problem is, they are all in English. This is the only app he could find that gave both a Punjabi format, and search support. I am looking for either a fix to my problem, or an alternative that will work for him. Any help would be appreciated.

Reply to text not working after new update topic

Has anyone else had a problem with not being able to reply to texts from the watch? When I swipe left to "reply via sms". Click on it. Nothing happens.

text message issues. topic

I have verizon LG3 . i have issues with text message and mms.. Text message stuck in sending. Some times its send right away. And sometimes still sending for like 30 minutes. And there is something weird when somebody send me mms. If i get mms. I can not get a txt message or mms from anyone for exactuly 15 minutes.. Im not sure if its verizon or my LG.

[MOD] Batterty percentage in locksreen status bar plus green carrier text topic

I cannot find a way to have the battery % show itself in the status bar with the odexed 5.0 system. I have at least been able to show the battery percentage in the lockscreen status bar. I've also changed the carrier text to green instead of white simply because it looks cool. As long as you're on LRX210 this should work for you. Just move the SystemUI.apk to system/priv-app and set permissions to rw-r-r and reboot. See below to for screenshots and the apk for download.

Phone sending one text 9 times? topic

Not sure if this is a Sprint issue or a phone issue... My phone is showing texts as "Sending" for a very long time. The recipient is reporting receipt of the same messages like 9 times. How do I tell if this is my phone, or a Sprint issue?
