S5 Back key question topic

Twice now in the last 48 hours my back key has stopped working. Nothing no lights no response.

The menu key works fine and as soon as I restart it comes back.

I don't think this is a hardware fault as it comes back straight after a restart and the other key works. Am I right in saying that software can have a effect on the touch keys ? Or is it something else.

Oh just to mention I do have a tempered glass protector on could it be confused with it on or is it just software.

I have an HP laptop running Windows 7 pro. This laptop supports a virtual machine which I have XP running presently. I am wondering, is there a Linux that I could run as a virtual machine on this laptop?
if possible, I would prefer to do that than set up another PC.

A question about CM7 topic

I have this good old Nexus One for a long time and it does what it does :) .

Now I'am looking for something that is still on CM7 but just with the mail/contacts/calendar and the Play Store in it. More is just not necessary, I think.
When I look in the GApps archive for this Android version can I delete files which are not in relation to these services in this archive?
I tried newer roms and there were quite slow so I got back to the CM rom.

And if everything is slimmed, the partitions could be resized, too. So that there is more data storage available.

I partitioned the 8GB SD Card so that mounts2sd (or any other program for that case) can use this space. But as long I don'T use the other androids and stay on 2 that shouldn#t be neccesary. Just my opinion.

[Q] MT6572 ROM Porting Question topic

Hey guys, I was referred over here from XDA Assist so lets try this again:

So I am thinking of porting a custom rom for my MT6572 device which I am sure you have never heard of: QMobile A170. I already have it rooted using Farmaroot 1.9.3 (thankgod for generic tools) and seeing as there are no roms for this specific model out there, was thinking of porting one myself. So here are my queries.

1. Which ROM do you suggest I port (in terms of features, ui, stability and chance of success etc)? Where can I find an android 4.4+ rom? I only found one but it has an annoying dev picture everywhere: droidbuzzz.blogspot(dot)com/2014/10/mt6572-custom-rom-pure-l-custom-rom-for(dot)html

2. Which porting guide do i follow for MT6572 porting? there are alot of guides out there, and more alarmingly, with different steps and procedures.

3. Should I use a porting tool or something?

NEXUS 6 OTA Question topic

Hello XDA, I recently rooted / unlocked my N6. I used WugFresh NRT to do so. However, I did not like the process of rooting so I (using NRT) flashed stock + unrooted and then factory reset followed by an OEM lock. Reading about lollipops new way of OTA, can I perform OTAs? Or is it too late?

I found a great deal to buy a 2600 original samsung battery BUT , the problem is that :
All the notes on the battery are the same as mine beside this :

11,78 Wh - new battery
9,88 Wh - my battery .
--------------------------
Charge voltage limiting 4,35V - new battery
Charge voltage limiting 3,8V - my battery .


Will it work with these things different from my battery ?
What does 11,78 Wh mean ?

How do I find out how long my phone has been off charge like it KitKat?

i have and Samsung Galaxy S3 stock ROM and everything this i s my build "kot49h.l710vpucnj3" would this have anything to do with why i cant get root or i am missing something i have used Samsung S3 root toolkit i can flash a custom recovery but on initial boot it get removed by the system i also tried srsroot, tried cf auto root but that screw up my system perhaps i used the wrong one i am running viring moible 4.4.2 model SPH-L710

So I'm new to Credo and Sprint (former Verizon user). From what I've researched about Credo (which not much is available), in theory I should be able to flash a Sprint ROM and then reconfigure the APN settings for Credo. Is this correct? I'm rooted and have TWRP installed. Any other Credo users' tips/tricks/advice would be greatly appreciated. I have searched for Credo related issues and so far haven't been able to find any, which I find odd. Anyway, thanks for taking a look and a very big thanks for any responses to this post.

I have a galaxy s4 that i am trying to unlock. I get to the network lock screen where i should have 3 choices being 1, perso sha256 info 2, perso sha256 on
and 3, perso sha 256 off i only have perso sha256 info. When i hit that perso info line i get sha256_enable_flag{1}.

I have taken the plunge and gotten this awesome slate. I root EVERYTHING ALWAYS. The one thing I am wondering is whether anyone has ran into serious stability issues or loss of functionality with rooting? Also, what ROMS do you recommend as a daily driver?

Today I received my new N6 and I installed whatsapp. But when I send a message I noticed that the small "pop" sound doesn't work as It worked in all my old phones (note 2 & 3 , etc.).

[Q] Just a question about ported Android versions topic

How does it work?

I mean.. I currently own an LG G2.
Everybody is waiting for the android 5 CloudyG3 port but it's not comming because there is no matching Kernel. So from what I understood, only when LG releases the Android 5 version to the G2, there will be a CloudyG3 ROM based on Lillipop.

But then I see my old Samsung Galaxy S running 4.4.2 on a custom rom, when the last official version was like 2.3.6.

So.. How come the G2 can't get the 5.0, but the SGS can run 4.4.2?
