Hey guys,

Really not a discussion post but my 2015 resolution is to share and thank. So this post is a shoutout to everyone in the community that contributed over the time while I have been on here. I've been through some dark moments dealing with these phones. I appreciate you guys doing what you do for the love of the sport. If I didnt have kids I'd probably be more active and I wish I would have shared some more of my experiences with the roms and root methods.

I've been riding with Team Droid since day 1. Literally I remember that October day when the UPS man pulled up with G1 on launch day. I just sold my iPhone and excited to holding a key to a new world. Fast forward to the MoPho to the Note 1 to the Executive Edition GS3 with the wood box and now my G2, not mention some lesser phones in between.

No matter the device, the community always had answers for any problem and even give you ways to enhance your experience and it never cost anything but time and some frustration (lol)

So this post is a thank you to all of you and encouragement to keep up the good work.

[Q] Recovery mode problems HELP PLS! topic

Hey everyone ,I need some help to solve my issue , I have galaxy note 3 n900t Tmobile ,few months ago I have root my phone and I have my rom manager app purchased so I used it to flash their recovery ,phone worked fine ,few days ago after rebooting it went to download mode by itself and kept restating and going to download mode over and over and did not boot.
So I tried vol up+home+pwr it instead going to recovery it happened same thing it went to download mode and reboot and over and over ,so I pulled out battery and using buttons I went to download mode and when asked to continue or cancel I picked cancel and phone restarted and without problems booted up and works ,I use stock rom 4.4.2 .
And story got worst now ,since everything seems to be fine phone works right ,its not ,It wont go to recovery mode anyway using rom manager or button way,using odin 3.7 and 3.10 no matter flashing any recovery file FAIL, flashing stock firmware FAIL at aboot ,using Kies to update firmware FAIL ,I tried all What I know and nothing helps odin shows me that writing memory fail ,I have not tied to use nand memory erase ,and reboot since I have not use that ever and im scared to do it since phone kinda work I dont want to brick it ,so if anyone know how Please advise ,Thanks

[Q] Bootloop? topic

I installed the 5.0.2 ROM and wnated to go back to my old rom, but it's not working very well, the phone starts up and then shows the google logo (from the 5.0.2 rom) and the restarts, i've tried to go back to the 5.0.2 with no success. I've even managed to flash a new boot.img file on the phone but it still dosn't work, any help would be gratly apreciated!

De-ATT Nexus 6? topic

I got a nexus 6 from ATT since I couldnt afford it outright, surprisingly no bloatware was installed on it besides the splash screen and ringtones (yes I had sim card in during setup). I wanted to get rid of the ATT splash screen and ringtones and I know that can only be accomplished by rooting and deleting the partition they are in. Question is: if I remove them now will the just be reinstalled when OTA update comes(I know I'll lose root)? Also will rooting and removing the partition void the warranty on a nexus device?

Credit to those whose posts gave me all the necessary information and programs to do this. Namely, those who've done this very same thing before. Sorry, in a hurry at the moment to post this, will credit by name later. Thank you to those concerned!

The latest stock ROM, v23A, made for the Verizon LG G Pad 8.3 model VK810.4G, also called "altev" in KDZ format, which is flashable via the Windows utility "LG Flash Tool 2014 - Tools Offline KDZ Flash Rom for LG".

The KDZ file is in a zip, so you'll have to extract it. It is NOT a flashable zip.

Any current and future files for this and other devices will be available in my section on Android File Host.

I obtained the KDZ file for 23A by:

1. Installing the latest LG drivers for Verizon LG_VZW_United_WHQL_v2.18.0.exe (I'll link later).
2. Finding and running LGMLauncher.exe (I'll link later).
3. Connecting the VK810.4G to the PC via USB and choosing Internet-Ethernet mode.
4. Opening the menu in the upper right corner and choosing "Update Recovery".
5. When the download and update on the tablet were done, then I could find the KDZ file in "C:\ProgramData\LGMOBILEAX\Phone".

Well, my mobile network worked fine until 6 months ago when i experienced HUGE signal loss.
few weeks before that i had my phone's display being replaced because of minor damage + unlock problem
Now, i ave a simple question:
My friend has the same phone and he has the cover on the metal part (arrow position on image), while I dont have it.

I have tried:
1) Different SIM cards (no result)
2) Different ROM-s (original and custom, no results)


Could this be the cause of the low signal problem?

Xperia E3 reboots automatically topic

Hi there.
My Xperia E3 D2203 has one week old and, for no reason, it reboots automatically and sometimes it reboots continuously.
Before it reboots a message on the display says "SIM card inserted, Rebooting". But I didn't inserted or removed the SIM card, I even weren't touching the phone...

Reason Why Mate7 Shows 4g sign Instead of LTE topic

Hello guys..
I have seen some users saying that they don't get Lte symbol and that the mobile is showing 4g symbol instead.
Today I found the reason of this. While I was looking at Theme downloaded from theme app, I noticed that they have put 4g icon even for LTE. This is the reason why we see 4g symbol even when we know that we are connected to LTE.
I hope this will end some users confusion. :)

Anyone up for being a hero and porting multirom to the Note 4 (N910F)? Now we are seeing some tremendous roms for this beast it would be awesome to run multiple OS' on this device. I'm sure it would be useful for some of the current devs working with the note 4 as reflashing all the time must become a pain when you dont have a device dedicated to development and use it personally. Tasseder the original multirom dev has written a guide for porting https://github.com/Tasssadar/multiro...rting-MultiROM I looked at the basic requirements and am pretty sure its achievable with our device. Looking at the guide its certainly way above my capabilities but knowing the level of talent here in the note 4 forums I'm sure there plenty capable of achieving this. [Q] Could not do normal boot- how to fix what I don't know was done topic

I got a phone from a relative who is not clear on what he did- but I think he likely rooted his S4, then accepted an update. I'm a full time IOS guy with some Android/Samsung experience, but I don't know where to start. If all I can get is "could not do normal boot...downloading do not turn off target" on this Verizon Samsung S4- where the heck do I start? I'm familiar with what ODIN is - but I'd need a version number and files to upload right?:)

Watchmaker App change face daily possible? topic

As title states, is there a setting on watchmaker i am missing that would automatically change my watch face everyday? If not that would be a good feature for them to add.

Every morning can have it set at specific time or even set when taken off charger that it automatically changes to one of your other watch faces. This way for those that have a lots of great faces and want to use them can be rotated every day or whatever set amount watchmaker devs would want to program.

If not possible i guess this a feature request haha.

No matter what AOSP lollipop Rom I flash to my VS985 (each clean wipes). Whenever I receive a notification whether it be for text, email, or an app. The ringer won't stop with the press of the volume button like all other roms. I have to actually click on the notification and open said app in order for it to stop I have Lollipop installed on multiple phones and they do not have this issue. It is very annoying so I've reverted back to Kit Kat for the moment but if anyone has had this issue and found a fix. Help a brotha out! Thank you.

hi guys, I've got a problem, and maybe you can help me solving it. I recently bought a pair koss portapro ktc as an upgrade from portapro classic. they have the 3 classic buttons for volume and play/pause control. the problem is that they're made for iOS, and the volume buttons aren't working at all. I tried with headphone button controller, but I can't configurate them, and I think the phone doesn't even recognize the pressure of one those buttons. there's an application that would allow me to test if the button's are even working? I mean, I want to know if the device (oneplus one) recognizes that I pressed button when I physically do this. I'm looking for an hard buttons tester, just that. if I'll be able find something like this I'll go through tasked and stuff's like that to set the buttons function properly. can somebody help me? (sorry for my English)

This is my first post after I came across your community on Google and I registered immediately when I saw the level of professionalism you guys hold yourself to here.

Here's the run down, I'm a layman at this. I barely have any technical knowledge of working with phones but I am good with computers so I guess the apprenticeship begins here.

My sister owns a Galaxy S4 from AT&T and for a few days prior to it ultimately shutting down for good (bricked?) the phone had been acting up and operating very slowly. I tried all options in an attempt to turn it on and nothing. I connected it to the OEM Samsung wall charger and nothing happens. I also attempted to connect it to my PC and there was no recognition from either the computer or the phone. This pretty much leaves me to think it's either an issue with the microUSB port or there is another hardware issue.

I've searched the forums and attempted what I could (powering on trouble-shooting methods) but because the phone won't even turn on, my troubleshooting options are extremely limited. What can I do from here?

Many people have reported issues with MMS and the Google Messenger app.

I've tried a multitude of things, and the only thing that fixed it was to do the following:

Update APNs to the correct ones (in most cases, it will be nxtgenphone)

Next - DELETE ALL UNUSED APNS. This is the part that fixed it for me, and a few others have reported it working as well. I'm not technically sure why it works, but deleting all unused APN's fixes MMS (sending + receiving) for Google Messenger.

I've tried new ROM's, APN settings, and even some resets, and this is the only fix I've found.

Google is aware of the MMS issue and it will likely be fixed soon, but this is an instant option to get MMS back!

Stuck "IN LOGO SCREEN" topic

Hello guys,
Today suddenly the phone was turn off without any warring.
The next step I did is to turn it on, the phone is boot and working fine, and then turn off without any warring.
In the third time the phone going to the logo screen and turn off and in the fourth time again going to logo screen and turn off and, and etc.
After all this phenomenons I deiced to flash to backup I got, insert to recovery mode and I do "restore" action - the phone says "missing m5 files". Then I find your guide to flash a stock rom with Odin and it to be ended successfully. Now the phone turn on into the setting page of Samsung's stock and the screen stuck (any touch on the screen doesn't do anything). I turn off the phone and try to turn it on and again the phone is going to Samsung logo screen and turn off.
It is important to note that the phone insert to "download" and "recovery" mode.
I think that the phone infected with virus.

[Q] Force data roaming? topic

Is there any way to force a T-Mobile Note 4 to data-roam on AT&T (or any other available network) when T-Mobile's data network is dysfunctional, even if the nearest T-mobile tower is supposedly strong?

Last night, T-Mobile destroyed my New Year's Eve. I lost all connectivity around 11:42pm, and didn't get it back for 90 minutes (almost, and probably, on the dot). As far as I can tell, their local network burned through its entire pool of IPv4 addresses, then couldn't re-allocate abandoned ones until the DHCP leases expired 60-90 minutes later. So the network took a hit shortly before midnight, then sat on its ass for an hour and a half until the abandoned sessions timed out, and their addresses became available again.

(Just to be clear... I don't expect miracles or perfection on an extreme occasion like New Year's Eve or July 4th in South Beach or downtown Miami. A few minutes of flakiness is to be expected. What I'm talking about is the complete, inexcusable extended loss of all IP data connectivity (to the point where I couldn't even ping 8.8.8.8) for an hour and a half.)

Need advice topic

I have bricked my fire tv that has rbox's custom mod installed ( I wiped my sd partition and restarted the device before replacing the restore.img) so totally my own stupid fault... but I have a guy on this forum that's kindly trying to assist me in restoring it as he has the ability to get access to the emmc chip. He has a complete back up of his flash but what he is needing to know though is : where/how the FireTV is storing unique stuff like serial number/Device ID and whatnot. MAC addresses of Wifi and LAN would come to mind too. But he's pretty sure this contains IDs that are unique.
Would the following be possible : If we would know in what part this information is stored. He could try to make a backup of this from my device once it shows up as eMMC, and then later restore it

Any advice really appreciated as just want to return my fire tv to a working state.

Attempting Read&Write simultaneously? topic

I'm creating an app that has backround services/broadcast recievers... a lot of seperate threads are running.

What would happen if one thread is writing to file.txt with an FileOutputStream object, and another thread then attempts to write to the same file.txt with another FileOutputStream object?

Would the second thread wait until the first one is finished? Or do I need to implement FileLock in my android app?

Also what happens if I try to read with FileInputStream while another thread is writing to that file with FileOutputStream?

Multi Window with Chrome Browser topic

I just picked up the Note 4 (coming from a N5) and was messing around with all of the features. When I first started using the multi window feature, I was able to do 2 chrome tabs on top of one another. Now, for some reason, I can only do one chrome window and another app. It no longer lets me do 2 separate chrome windows. I tried 2 windows with the Samsung internet browser that comes installed and that works fine. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Does anyone tried to use NFC tag in the watch to open a door or gain access on other RFID device?
I'm considering to buy a watch and the main reason to do it is abillity to use it at work, where I have to go through many doors where I use my Nexus 5 or just simple keyfob with Mifare chip.

Last night I unlocked the bootloader of my lte tablet running 2.1. Since unlocking it I lost fastboot access in bootloader. I tried everything I can think of, reinstalling naked fastboot drivers in both android and bootloader after purging anything resembling old drivers and alternatively tried getting fastboot access on a macbook and Linux laptop. In all cases my shield is recognised by adb while in android, but not after the reboot bootloader command. It seems so unlikely I broke fastboot access after a successful unlock, I hope someone can offer some ideas of what could be going on.

I am using Samsung galaxy grand stock 4.2.2.
On checking via no frills cpu control I found that the cpu frequency is stuck at 1.2ghz.
it shows
max frequency : 1.2ghz
min frequency : 1.2ghz
I tried changing frequency with no frills cpu control , voltage control , setcpu . But I am unable to change the frequency.

Today I went with a friend of mine and bought him a brand new LG G3, I played with the phone a bit, and I really liked the "double tap" feature where you can lock or wake the phone up without having to press the power button every time you wish to unlock the phone.

My question is, is it possible to implement this setting in the Note 4? (N910C)

Like others, my Nexus 9 gets fairly hot when playing games (Hearthstone), watching videos and browsing the Web.
I installed an app to monitor the temp, it usually spikes at ~70°C. I'm used to paying attention to temps on servers and Pc's. In that context I would be concerned about a machine that was at that high of a temperature, but I realize a tablet is a different beast.

[Q] Get "Access Denied" when accessing external SD Card via Wireless Storage topic

Am trying to use LG's Wireless Storage function to copy files to the external SD Card from Windows 7 (IE11). Whereas it works fine with the internal memory (sdcard0), but I have only write access to the external SD card. It seems I can only write to it via the USB cable. Any idea why this may be, and more importantly how to fix it? Also why is it all so slow??

CM 12 + gapps flashed but no google service and now can't flash anything. topic

Using Odin/towelroot/twrp I was able to flash CM12 on my tab pro 8.4 but after flashing gapps none of the google apps actually work - they all say that google play service is required. I tried flashing different gapps packages and also directly installing just the google play services APK.

I done a full wipe then attempted to reflash CM12 but the flash would just hang on "skipping md5 verification" or whatever it says and nothing is ever shown on the progress bar. Only way of getting out is to hold the power button and turn the tablet off which of course breaks it. Luckily I can use odin to flash the stock firmware and have my tablet working again. However I was very impressed with the new android and would really like to run it. Is there a way to flash CM12 with odin?

OK so I have white note 4 with spigen tough armor cover. Today I tool off cover for cleaning for the 1st time a D was very disappointed to see metal scratches on my note 4 all over the place. This has to be the cover since I have never dropped the phone. Sucks...

Installation instructions:
Installing Euphoria-OS for the first time, or coming from another ROM:
- Make sure you're running a proper working ClockworkMod-Recovery/Team Win Recovery Project for ext4

- Make a backup of your current rom just in case
- Wipe data, cache and dalvik-cache

[Q] Android Tv Box IR remote file location topic

I have a Mele V10 Android Box, that does not come with Google play, meant for overseas market, I have some alternative firmware that's not only rooted but works really well, Where might the file/s be located that control the infra red remote functions. I would like to swap the correct settings from the factory firmware to my alternative firmware. Everything works perfectly on the alternative firmware with the exception of the remote control. anyone have any ideas ?

[Q] Xperia J - locked and failing to boot - recover data? topic

Hi folks,
I'm trying to recover data from a Xperia J (ST26i - 11.2.A.0.21) which suddenly started to hang on boot at the boot splash.

The phone is locked, so I cannot access fastboot, let alone adb, to get access to the internal filesystem. I believe all I can work with is flashmode (please correct me if I'm wrong). Phone has no recovery mode. So I fear I need to reflash the device.

I've read through these forums and tried several things with no success:
1. starting simple, I tried the PC Companion tool - it was unable to detect the device while it was (a) stuck at boot splash animation and (b) in flashmode (powered up while holding Vol down, end up with greed led lit). No good
2. Tried the Sony Emma tool, to see if it could talk with the device. It detected the device, could read data from it (model, IEMI and other serial numbers) but refused to allow me to interact with the files on the device because the bootloader is locked.
3. Ok, maybe I can unlock the bootloader? Nope, as the unlock steps require access to fastboot, which I can only turn on by being able to boot the device and enable developer mode. No go.
4. So leaves me with flashing the device. Maybe some other software on the phone got corrupted? I downloaded copy of JB firmware via [1], got the amazing flashtool, and managed to flash the device - but not touching the userdata partition/file. This succeeded, but still the device fails to boot beyond the xperia splash animation.

I'm out of ideas really. If I could somehow install clockwork mod recovery, just so I could get adb access to the filesystem, that would be enough for me to continue. But I don't see any way to achieve that. What have I missed?

Problems trying to share mobile network on my device topic

Hi all, i've been trying to search on google but without any luck, so i came here trying to be helped :p

The thing is: I can't get wifi hotspot working every time I turn that option ON my mobile data get's disconected and starts saying activating... and never gets connected again BUT if i turn wifi hotspot off it gets connected a few seconds before. People can get conected trough my wifi network but with no internet on it...

Hi. I really like this phone and it almost went back due to the camera being too slow. I started to look for an alternative app and I have found one called Open Camera. Its open sourced and very good at allowing users to have more manual controls. Using different focus options I have reduced the time it takes the camera to focus and I can now capture pics almost instantly. So far I'm pleased and wanted to share with you all.

Knox Issue in Download Mode topic

Hi, I rooted my GT-i9301i last week, disabled Knox with SuperSU, flashed CWM and installed CM11 and CM12. I unrooted and went back to stock firmware using Odin because my phone doesn't vibrate normally anymore. I wanted to know if I still had my warranty. But my phone doesn't have a flash counter. I read that with newer Samsung phones there is a Knox counter and that you can check it by going into Download Mode. But there is no 'Knox Kernel Lock' and 'Knox Warrenty Void'. Oh and it says that I have a GT-I9300I but I have a GT-I9301I. Now I don't know if my warranty is void. Hope you guys can help me.

Incorrect photo taken time on my Nexus 6 topic

I am in Australia and my nexus 6 is running on Android 5.0.1.

Today I just found that the google photo app shows the incorrect photo taken time when I see it in the details part. It shows the time in London. Why?

It seems there is some problem with google photo app itself because I used third party app like solid explorer to see the photo taken time is correct. Also, after photo is uploaded to Dropbox it also contains correct time.

PS: I correctly setup my timezone to Australia blah blah.

Anyone can tell me how to fix the problem of Google photo app?

I want to use an Android tablet or phone as the computer and monitor to display sensor inputs and then control outputs to hardware based on sensor inputs.

Example:
Analog temperature data comes in via IOIO or Arduino ADK to the tablet, then...
The tablet displays the data and is programmed to output a command through IOIO or ADK to do something.
---> ex: temperature reaches 100F, android commands a valve to open, then temperature drops below 100F and the valve is commanded closed.

How difficult is it to do this and is IOIO or Arduino ADK best suited to this application?

[Q] Working on linux browsers but not windows browsers. Whats up ? topic

I like the app simple, easy to use and works great on linux (not mirror just the browser method)

I can access the android 4.4.2 from my linux browsers and interface seems to work fine. messaging,contacts etc.

However, the interface on windows browsers only has the green paper airplane showing when I click on any function icon.

Contacts, brings up the window with green paper airplane
Messages or call log same thing.

Why is windows browsing non functional. Both IE and firefox same effect on windows>

a few days i deviced to manualy flash 5.0.2 an my old n7.
flashing 5.0 already made many problems.
so i hoped 5.0.2 would be easier.
i wasnt -.-

i can flash bootloader, recovery but not system. when i flash system (fastboot flash system system.img, all drivers corectly installed) it lasts ours until my pc says something new like "too many links" or so. but not every time it comes to an error message. sometimes nothing happens (waited 2 days!)
the n7 it selfs dont react then.
at flashing 5.0 it helped me to change the filesystem and change it back. at 5.0.2 nothing helps. also cant flash back 5.0

bootloader is 4.23.
has anybody an idea?

Docomo (and other) data sim only :cell standby & battery drain topic

Hi everyone!!
Some time ago there was a discussion about data only sim cards (in Japan). Basically data only SIM doesn't connect to network like normal voice sim so the os boosts radio signal in search for that (non existing) signal. Then you have a huge battery drain and phone gets hotter.

Apparently the fix was some docomo sim patcher module for xposed. The module is removed if you search in xposed but it can be found online. In all discussion I dont see nobody mentioning kitkat, only ics and jb. I saw somewhere that this problem is supposed to be solved in kitkat but its not. In kit kat there is signal bars but cell standby is high and battery drain is huge. Have in mind that this happens exactly the same on various devices ( Im now on OnePlus one).

I installed the module, and it solved the cell standby (it used to be 100% and now is much less) but time on says as long as the actual time on of the device and although battery life is better it still drinks too much battery no matter if on LTE or 3G. Mostly i notice that battery drain is way too huge when cell phone is in stand by.

Did anyone finally got around this problem? Is there some up to date fix? All I found is very outdated, and no clear solution either.

Since my super popular forray into baseband modification my girlfriend has had my trusty old xperia Z c6603 until this morning. Of course, the first day of 2015 sets off with a bang.
After unplugging her phone this morning, it locked up. (this happens sometimes, once out of every 10 unplugs) She reset it with volup + power as usual and took a shower. Except today, it doesn't come back on.

This phone has never been rooted. It's had an alternate baseband flashed (of course, lol), and it's been working fine for 2 years. It has no water damage of any kind, and since it's me, you can expect it's in killer shape.

Volup/down + power does nothing at this point. Thinking I'm going to have to go into disassemble as described in other threads to unplug the battery, but that sucks.
Anyone else had this issue?

I've really big problem and i hope that here i get sugestion...

1, I try flash new ROM to my phone. I copy ROM to "SD card" but in wrong version.
After this I into Flashtool get new Kernel and new ver. of TWRecovery. Then I go to recovery and star flashing as every time before...

2, But now I'm in bad sittuation. I can only get into recovery... When i want to go to bootloger, i can't. Every time when I go to bootloger from recovery, i'm back in recovery. Every time is phone reaction the same as I hold power up button+vol. up. And I'm only in recovery.
When I want transfer some ROM to phone, I can't. Cose when I Mount USB massstorage I see phone as "Elementary sys device". I have install ABD device drivers...
Changelog I can't get you, cose it's in "SD card"...

3, Please, Show me "the way" out of this sh*t... I use HTC HD2 few years, all time flashing. Now I use Xperia S for 3 yr. All time flashing. But now I'm in a wrong way ind can't get my phone to standby:)

Real resolution changer topic

Only here to share this app { NOMone resolution changer }for android gamers using galaxy grand. Personally, I feel that SGG should have a higher screen resolution as it makes gaming better in terms of gfx.
The app is easy to use and it doesn't need your phone to reboot before applying changes and if you notice strange icon size on your status bar, just reboot your phone to fix that and try not to put custom resolution you don't know about use the templates given in the app if confused.
I use the Google nexus 4 template for gaming sometimes. Not my app, just want to share with people who doesn't know about it. So install and enjoy.

I want to link a game's data to sdcard via adb based on this link

the problem is I couldn't link it, the adb always said "link failed File exists"

I believe this method don't need to repartition because I try to avoid that
