So im using an Apex Solo 7.85 ( honestly the best tabket ive ever used.) Im running kitkat 4.4.2 . this is not a cellular tablet but it says this at the top. ( look at attachment) when i click it just goes to data usage. Im talking about the network option.

Ok, this is definitely a rather unusual question and may not even be able to be answered on this site (perhaps not even within show of the site - if so, my apologies).

The problem: I have a Dell Inspiron 15 laptop with urgent files. The screen is broke.

What resources I have: I have been using a HDMI cable to use my TV as a monitor, until I broke the cable. I have a second laptop (HP 15-1009wm J2V78UA#ABA) fully functional (does not have BT radio). I have T-Mobile HTC One M8 unlimited everything + hotspot. I also have a Cricket ZTE Sonata z740g (the digitizer is broke and I have to remotely control it over Wi-Fi with the M8).

How can I set up either phone or the HP as an extended display, at the very least (I can ctrl+a , alt+m, and use arrow keys to move the desktop files - where the urgent folder is - or even ctrl+a , ctrl+c [or x], ctrl+v. Anyway, I'm sure everyone here knows that. I want to know if anyone knows if this is possible to retrieve the files (with absolutely nothing pre-installed for remote management) without having to physically swap the drives - it's a pain in my arse, you know, proprietary issues. It can be done though, just trying to avoid it.

First ring very low then rings normal. Any fix for this? topic

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I've noticed (as I'm sure many of you have) that when receiving a call the first ring is so low it's almost inaudible. then ring #2 on the phone rings at normal sound level. I've tried various ROMs and all of them seem to have it. Is there any fix for this?

Today I've recognise, that there are in different subfolders from /data/data/com<subfolfername>/files are add. files are available.
All the files starts with rList-com.<partof subfolder_name + Activity >

E.g.

I've never recognise this files in history

From where does this kind of files are comming?
Who create this one and for which reason ?
All the files are in a normal writeprotected system area !

I do not remember the details anymore, but I did managed to find a file somewhere in XDA forums to work with Android 4.4.2 (at least that's what I wrote down). I just tried with an AT&T S5 (rooted) and tether works fine. Tried Speedtest.net and it gave me 3-4Mbps download speed.

Here are the instructions I saved. I did not write it. These instructions are correct as it works for my phone:

I got it to work after some tinkering. Instructions:

1) Mount /system RW (I use ES File explorer)

2) Navigate to /system/app

3) Rename a total of 4 files by adding ".bak" to the end of the filename-
a- TetheringProvision.apk.bak
b- TetheringProvision.odex.bak
c- TetheringAutomation.apk.bak
d- TetheringAutomation.odex.bak

4) Paste new TetheringProvision.apk into the /system/app directory (I cant remember
whether I used the one from this thread or another, so I attached the one I used below)

5) Reboot phone. During the reboot I got the "Android is upgrading" popup with a little
loading bar.

6) The first time you turn tethering on, you need to do it by going through Settings
--> More Networks --> Tethering and Protable Hotspot --> Turn on Mobile Hotspot.
It will give you the "Please wait while verifying" and then tell you to call AT&T
to get tethering added to your plan, but just hit the OK button, and a few seconds
later tethering should start. After this, turn it back off and now use the "mobile
hotspot" app and you can configure network settings like wifi network name and password.


I was able to resolve the "unfortunately settings stopped" error by correcting the
permissions on the new TetheringProvision.apk to match the old one, rw-r-r, then I rebooted and was good to go.

I just want some feedback if this helps anyone else or makes a difference for anyone else. It seems to for me, I want to make sure its not placebo/different usage. Heat seems to be less, performance so far seems to be better.
Its just turning off Network Action Predictions in chrome settings/advanced/privacy.

I have taken the plunge and gotten this awesome slate. I root EVERYTHING ALWAYS. The one thing I am wondering is whether anyone has ran into serious stability issues or loss of functionality with rooting? Also, what ROMS do you recommend as a daily driver?

I appreciate it, I realize I am little late to the game here, but this was the tablet I wanted all along.

I like in a Country that doesn't have Google Now, Location services etc enabled. Is there any point in me getting this watch? Will it work without Google Now? Obviously, it won't provide contextually aware notifications, but everything else should function fine right?

[Q] This game claims they found severe problems with Samsung gyroscopes! Is it true? topic

I am really confused when i see that this game, FlipMob is claiming they found that All Samsung gyroscopes are severely poor performing. According to them, LG, HTC, Sony and iPhones are way better in gyroscopes. Also this game is not working properly in Galaxy S5, whereas it runs awesome in my friend's Nexus 5! Is it true, what they are saying?

Anyone Else Have This Issue? [Stock 12B-Non Rooted] [12B Bug Report] topic

I updated the other day to the new OTA, 12B, for the VS985.
I just noticed today that my phone seems to have a WiFi issue. It connects to my home network, disconnects, reconnects, disconnects and continues this process.
I'm NOT rooted.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

Rrecently bought my 3rd opo. So this one will not let me hse my att sim. It keeps saying "sim card does not allow a connection to this network" wtfff. Im very sure the sim is in right. Contacts facing the back. Im using a unlocked lg g2 with the same sim and it works fine. I domt know what the heck. The "no sim" icon dissapears when i insert the sim. Jut no service at all.HELP.
