Broken Google Hangouts Dialer topic

During some upgrades to Lollipop (5.0.1) and the newest Hangouts (2.5.816xxxx) and Hangouts Dialer (0.1.816xxxx), something got broken and I was stuck in this endless loop of error messages with the Hangouts Dialer.
"Phone calling is not supported for this account with this version of Hangouts."

Annoying! I had some issues with a Google Voice number, my cell number, and all the "seamless" integration Hangouts offers across all my devices.

To fix it
go to hangouts
hit the three lines in the top left
select settings
choose your gmail account
go down to Account under "Phone number confirmed"
reconfirm your number(s)

and that sorted out my Google Hangouts Calling feature.

[HELP] Clickable phone number links broken, brings up popup topic

For some reason, whenever I click on a clickable phone number link, could be from Google Now as pictured attached or from the Web, it brings up this stupid popup menu that doesn't allow me to dial directly. I tried searching here, I tried going to Default Apps and clearing Contacts, I tried finding out what app needed its data cleared, but I've come up short each time.

If you can help me or point me in the right direction to fix this, I really appreciate it, confused as to what happened for this to be changed and screwed up. Thanks!

[Q] Broken recovery VS980 topic

I have a G2 VS98026A running 4.4.4 BlissStalk.
I wanted to try and flash the crdroid 5.0 Rom, went to recovery to take a backup,
the process started and after a while the screen went black. I rebooted and tried to
enter recovery mode again, but nothing, black screen. I had TWRP 2.6.3.2.
Since then i tried reflashing all vs980 versions of both TWRP and CWM
with loki_tool and with Flashify and FreeGee, no luck.

I want to save reverting back to stock as a last resort, so I am wondering if anybody has a solution for this.

Hello,

I've recently bought an HTC one x. (The guy sold it told me only the screen is broken, now I'm starting to think it was broken because he throw the device to the wall...)

Here is the situation:
The phone is stuck in bootloop, it only boots to either the white htc screen, or into fastboot.
I've tryed flashing a custom recovery, but it won't boot into recovery, and when I try to boot there, I only get a black screen and no response (not even charging there).
I've tryed flashing new boot.img, it didn't help either.

I think the idiot tryed to flash a htc one x+ rom with everything, then panicked and erased everything.

I've tryed to flash a custom rom from fastboot, it says FAILED: remote not allowed.

I'm a little stuck here, can anyone please help me how to fix this? All I topics have found so far were not about this cid/version/modelid/anything.

Hangouts VOIP Audio is Broken -- Can We Figure Out Why, and Fix It? topic

[Okay... I'm posting this because or seems like there's a lot of chatter about this issue but for some reason it doesn't seen like a damned thing had been done about it, and that's not cool in my book. And yes, I'm cross-posting this between Android Development and Original Android Development, because it effects both groups.]

As you may (or may not know) using Hangouts VOIP calls is BORKED, and it has been for several days. This seems to affect all downstream CM12 ROMs, at least for the LG G3 D851.

Take a look at that logcat... It Is a MESS. Why are cameras being called ajillionty times for making a VOIP call? Why is there no path to the necessary VOIP_MIC component? When you realize that all 8000+ lines of this comprise *only a few seconds* just how...odd...things really are.

It is my understanding that this began after a pile of CM12 commits several days ago, but I'm not certain exactly when. I seem to remember someone is $droyd$'s Illusion ROM thread had the exact date(s).

Surely amongst all the developer brainpower we have amassed here we can figure this out...

So: any ideas?

[Q] Broken capacitive layer, can I use a mouse? topic

Hello all, i would love to know if it is possible to use a mouse on my V, as i have no more touch control.
So, i don't only need to get the mouse working, but i also need to get it working without being able to use the phone.... (there is the upper edge that still works and i managed to get 360 degree auto rotation on so i can use all things that are on the edges like soft keys)

Any ideas?
It would be a great portable mediaplayer etc....

Note 3 has broken screen, how can I transfer playlists to Note 4? topic

I tried asking in the note 3 forum Q/A but that's always been dead.

So I broke my note 3 screen and would very much like to pull the playlists off. It's around 3 dozen lists that curates my 50 gb library so rebuilding them would suck. It's a rooted tmobile note 3 running jedi, powers on, connects to pc, beeps, vibrates, just screen and digitizer are dead. Used stock music app.

USB debugging should be on but jedi had been stable for months and I've been too busy to do a lot of tweaking, does it turn off if unused? Should be...

Kies doesn't grab playlists for me, I love that it does for others but I've tried so many times

Playlist folder just has 0b pla files


I realize that I might have to do this...
Restore random phone from my titanium media backup
Back up random using non-root app
Restore new loaner phone from that backup

But that involves putting pants on and making eye contact to get access to a random rooted phone, any ideas that I can try from my butt?

Volume down button broken, so there is no fastboot topic

Hi, my volume down button is broken, and I'm just wondering if there are any way to get into fastboot without hardware buttons... I was flashing through fastboot and I made some mistakes in the process, so basicly I have no S. O.
When I turn on the phone, it goes straight to recovery mode, but I'm not able to choose any other option, because my volume button is broken :(
Is there any solution or workaround to get into fastboot? Is to hard to repair the volume buttons? Thanks in advance...

Has anyone else had an issue with the IR blaster after the OTA 5.0.1 update? I recieved the 5.0.1 OTA update and the IR blaster seems to have stopped working entirely. I've used several hardware info apps, and the blaster does not show up, can anyone else verify this?

My LG G2 recently fell and cracked the screen to the point where I cant see it or the screen doesn't pickup any movement from my fingers. I was able to get a micro usb to usb and plug a mouse in and guess where the mtp mode was so I could at least get my photos off which was successful but I still have important things on it that I need to get. I need to basically be able to control a mouse while the phone is connected to my computer so I can use MYPhone Explorer to extract that data off of it. I understand that you cant use a otg for a mouse and then also have the phone connected to the computer. If this isnt compatible is there a MHL to slimport adapter? Or is there any other way I can get the information off of it? Please any help would be grately appreciated, Thank you!

hello i have a big trouble, i need to do a
hard reset to a galaxy tab 3 but the button up doesn't work
and the tablet its blocked by "too many pattern attempts", and don't have the USB debugging activate.
exist one way of do a hard reset by software or with other buttons ? or
how i jump( or break ) the "too many pattern attempts" locked display ??.
