I have an Xperia L with locked bootloader and it cant bee unlocked..

Is there no development with this kind of device?

I mean no custom kernels, roms, etc??

Or how can i flash custom stock firmware maybe?

[Q] Problem after lowering navbar DPI topic

About a week ago I changed the DPI of the navbar to make it smaller and it worked fine, but then I noticed something strange - the back button seems to be a bit bigger than the other buttons.

Just got my galaxy tab and cannot get the official Samsung mhl hdmi adapter to output to my onkyo tx-nr636. The receiver has a dedicated mhl hdmi in and is fully hdcp 2.2 compliant. The tablet recognizes it is connected but insists it be connected directly to my tv. (This works) Has Samsung deliberately crippled this tablet? If so, are there any workarounds to get streaming audio and video to a receiver? I'm looking for as high a quality as possible as it is feeding my 150" protection screen. I'm incensed that this is even an issue.

[Q] Front Camera Video Slow Frame Rate topic

Hi folks,
I love my OPO :o , it's a cool phone but there's something annoying about it that i've noticed.

The video taken from front camera during low light is very choppy , with slow frame rate, looks kinda made from a cheap phone.
Even the preview is very choppy. In apps like Snapchat, this is very visible.
Outside, performance is good, no frame dropping. But inside, low light , it is very bad. Other phones i;ve used like Note II and S4 were smooth even during indoor video capture using front camera.
Am I the only one facing this ? :silly:

Bricked Samsung s4 HELPHELP topic

Ok so. I bricked my gt-i9505, and i have tried everything to try and fix it. The problems are as follows:
Phone wont turn on
Wont boot to recovery mode
Odin, Kies and pc wont recognize phone
The things i did that got me to a bricked phone are i flashed paranoid android onto the phone and tried to flash gapps full modular, it wasnt working, clockworkmod gave me a status 6 error and so i decided to use mobile odin to flash it as soon as it began the phone crashed and it wont turn on anymore. i am able to go into download mode
I need some help if anyone can help. I dont know what to do.

Material Design Concept 1 - similar to the original with tabs.

The bottom bar has been replaced by a FAB that would expand into 3 options to chose from (update status, share location etc.)

When scrolling tabs would stay and the action bar would hide

Uses Google style notification icon, help and support moved to the overflow menu

UNOFFICIAL CyanogenMod 12 for the Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Introduction

I decided to put together this 5.0 ROM using the old graphics drivers for those of us who would like to try Lollipop, but need full camera functionality (i.e. barcode scanner apps, or any other app that uses the camera API). Video recording is still somewhat broken, but 1080p yields the best results with only a narrow green strip appearing on the edge of the frame.

Please note that you can NOT use any other kernels with this ROM!! I have added a number of additional features to the kernel including custom voltage, fast charge, and color adjustment so hopefully that will satisfy enough for the time being.

- F2FS support for /data and /cache. System must be ext4.
- LegacyCamera app included
- Lower screen brightness during boot sequence
- Adjusted minfrees for better multitasking performance
- Netflix works
- All currently implemented CM features (AppOps, volume wake, etc)

If you are using F2FS, boot will hang for a bit longer on the Google Logo before animation starts

Bugs

- camcorder records video with green lines. Best results are with 1080p
- Google Play Movies & TV will not stream, but if you download the movie first it will play.
- gesture typing doesn't work on stock keyboard but does work on Google Keyboard

[Q] Wifi on/off toggle not working after 5.1 Update- Moto G 2014 topic

I'm running Supersu 2.42 and latest TWRP recovery.

Wifi on/off slider won't even toggle. I press it and animates, showing it recognized my touch, then it just slides back into off.
I tried all of the methods in this thread already: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2619553 , which includes: creating/replacing file in /persist.img.Doing a complete wipe, wiped cache partition and dalvik cache.Restoring factory settings.
I also tried several wifi-fix apps.
Nothing worked. I've been at it for hours.
Please someone tell me I just did something obvious and dumb so I can be done with this disaster.
How do I get my wifi working?

Also, on the off chance this has anything to do with it, whenever I start up the phone it goes into a bootloop on the "Warning:Your bootloader is unlocked" screen. It takes about ten minutes of looping to start up.

[COVER] SP Carbon Fibre back cover topic

The back of my Black SP has always looked very plain to me so I decided to change that, for very cheap (£1) I bought some Carbon fibre foil online and applied it to the back of my SP.
Here's the end result.





I think it looks very stylish and it's very cheap and easy to do. Also if you don't like the black one there are many colours of foil to chose from.

Wolfson is disappointing topic

After all that effort to get an n910c. The Wolfson is disappointing. Not only is the output lower than the Qualcomm note 4 (post update), the audio is dull and flat.

I have a nexus 6 as well and that is better that both versions of the note 4. The volume output is slightly higher but the sound quality is leaps and bounds better than the Wolfson in my note 4.

Note: I am referring to the headphone output. The speakers on the n6 are undoubtedly better. I don't think that needs any explanations.

Where can I get new LP radio for 4.4.2? topic

I have the 605V on the 4.4.2 I do not want LP but I want to know can someone link me to the radio from the new LP 5.0?

Also can I OBIN and install that radio without any custom recovery which I cannot get for 605V?

I manually flashed the 5.0 factory image to my 2012 WiFi Nexus 7 when it first came out and then flashed TWRP afterwards. Today I finally had time and wanted to update to 5.0.2 so I just used fastboot and flashed boot.img and system.img, to keep my data and recovery, yet somehow it replaced my recovery with the stock one.

It did this same thing on my Nexus 4 as well. How is this even possible? I flashed only boot and system and had TWRP.

It's not a problem or anything because I'll just reflash TWRP, I just wonder how it happens?

Been meaning to update to CM 10.2.1 on my Nexus 7 tablet for a while now. Was a rank noob when I rooted & flashed it (using Skipsoft Unified Kit, all props to the dev!) so bear with me if I get a bit bogged down re technicalities.

It failed to install automatically in TWRP so I flashed the zip manually, and was successful. Now because it's been a pretty long time in between updates, 3 other CM11 updates have appeared...guessing the latest is the first one listed below. Do you have to progress through them in sequence to get to the latest? Also is there anything different about updating to a new version, ie from 10 to 11? Can I just use the auto updater in settings?

okay, so i tried to return my rooted nexus 7 to stock using wugfresh toolkit. for some reson it failed when flashing to stock and locked the bootloader. now whenever i try to unlock the bootloader to flash stock manually i get this...

[Q] AT&T MMS Issues after blocking ads topic

Just as the title says. I have a rooted nexus 6 and I have ads blocked... I've done it multiple ways.... adaway... and I'm now using the built in ad blocker on Blisspop ROM... All ads are blocked, which is sweet, but I now no longer can send or receive MMS. I was perfectly fine with MMS previously to doing this.. I've done my research and have found I'm not the only one with this issue.. In fact it's quite frequent. I've checked my APN and I'm good. I've also changed 80 to 8080 as some have suggested... but I'm still stuck in the same rut..

I'm curious to know if you guys have any other ideas.. Appreciate any help.

Power Saving mode + Haptic Feedback topic

This may seem like a stupid question, but but I want to use Power Saving mode, but keep haptic feedback enabled, but restrict the cpu performance. (I know I'll get questions about why I'd want to do this. Simply put, I want to save battery power).

Alternatively, is there an app that will do the same thing as this option under Power Saving?

Ok, please I hope you can help. New to rooting, I rooted my s5, and was working fine for days, then I got the error and yellow triangle "system software not authorized by Verizon" I downloaded one md5 firmware I found and flashed it using odin, after was done had the same error though. I was on version 4.4.2. (don't know if that matters) I cannot find any other "stock" firmware online to try that are md5 that I can use with odin. I can find all these custom roms in zip format but don't know how to flash to odin when they are in the zip format and not tar or md5. Right now im just bricked and cant do anything and trying to learn how to fix all this.

Hi, I think i have a unique problem with my phone. I dropped my Sony xperia Z2 from knee height and now it will not turn on. The battery was on 70% when i dropped it.
If i try to boot it into recovery or download mode, it doesn't work either, it just doesn't power on.
Now the odd thing is, when i connect a charger to the phone, the notification light turns on and flashes a red color. The phone turns on very briefly displaying the Sony Xperia Logo before turning back off again and this happens repeatedly. This leads me to believe that the issue is to do with the software and not the hardware. If this is the case then i feel as though the problem can be fixed without having to open the phone.

Do you guys have any idea what the problem is? or what can be done/tried to fix it?

Just to add, i tried to push the red reset button down which is located next to the sim card holder. This achieved nothing.

I recently bought a LG G3 used as a Christmas present to myself. I've just set it up and noticed that SU installed fine from my playstore account, and after verifying I see that it's already rooted. Is there some way to tell if it's also been set up with a custom recovery as well? I have pending system updates and would like to go ahead and install, but not if it's going to soft brick the phone.

Or is there no way to safely install system updates with just root, and I need to completely wipe to stock anyway?

I have to agree with @Dukenukemx that newer phones suck and that most don't even have physical keyboards.

This is probable because of the increase in screen size and the general interest in lighter, thinner phones. I actually really, really enjoy a heavy phone. It makes them feel solid, like those age-old Nokias. The myTouch especially is rather heavy, and I've dropped mine a lot mainly because I'm in college and I'm always in a rush but also because I'm clumsy as ****. Heavier phones are more solidly built, because of the thicker plastic required to support all the moving parts, in the myTouch's case, the G2, and the G1.

Gonna edit this later, I'm not done.

Can you flash a new rom without root? topic

I got an SM-P600 today and let it update. I then (thought I) rooted and installed TWRP. I booted into TWRP and did a nandroid and it worked fine. After rebooting, I tried to restore tibu backups from my Note 8. I found I was not really rooted. I had used the root method for 4.3 instead of for 4.4.2. However, the 4.4.2 root file is not currently available on chainfire (bandwidth exceeded error) and there are no mirrors. Since I already have TWRP installed and it appears to be working, can I just flash a new rom anyway?

I got some strange problem about my nexus 7(2012) with android 5.0.
It has been upgraded to 5.0 some days. It may lag but not have problems. Now, it boots circle when it boots into launcher for seconds.
I have tried to reset it but it can't. It just rebooted to android robot screen and did nothing. The problem still occurred. I can't do factory reset.
I also found I can't wipe any data or flash ROM either with fastboot command or with nexus 7 tookit.
It seemed I can't do anything changed in the tablet.
Does anyone have ideas?
Is it really the problem of hardware?
How can I do?

Odinable Custom ROM for GT i9500 topic

Ive got my Samsung S4 i9500 edition bricked and i cannt boot normaly....

it cannt boot to CMW / TWRP either but the good news it i can go to download mode with no sweat and odin can detect this phone.

The problem is when i flashed a new rom ( a stock rom) ,it hung at "mapping PIT / Partititon PIT" , even when i used correct pit file. I read some source that because the last rom is custom rom so i cannt go directly to stock rom because the pit partition is ruined. And now i really need Odinable CUSTOM ROM and I try to search .... there is no odinable custom rom for this phone or I have missed.

If there is someone know that precious Odinable Custom Rom ... it would be so great.. Please Help :cowboy::cowboy:

I'm looking for a phone for my wife; camera and battery are what she states are most important, but general performance she will care about.

Barring the obvious screen size, resolution, and PPI differences between the Z2 and Z3C, the specs seem quite similar. Was wondering what "real world" performance differences people experience, if any.

Anything that should push me one way or the other? I'm leaning Z3C mainly because its newer.

Whole rundown of the situation:

• Wanted to be able to root my phone, do some research, mainly with http://androidforums.com/threads/roo...1-zara.817068/ and the one-click-root


• Attempted one-click-root first as I did not want to mess with my phone too much, ended up not working.


• Try to manually root my phone, unlocked the bootloader, installed SuperSU.zip via the guide above


• Check to see if I have root access, did not; attempted to do a full restart where I factory reset everything after another backup


• Phone starts hanging on the HTC logo screen


• Do some more research and eventually get to this soft-brick solution guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...5&postcount=23


• Followed the steps and am now currently booting into the fastboot screen permanently; even when attempting to power down, phone keeps booting back up.

[Q] Problem with Flashing Google Play Edition to HTC One topic

Hello fellow XDA members:

I have a problem when flashing an RUU to my HTC One...

I've tried both the rooted and non-rooted files of the google play edition, but it when I try to flash the ruu to the phone, I get an error saying FAILED (remote: 99 unknown error).

I'm using an HTC One M7 from AT&T.

My phone is S-OFF'd, it's rooted, and all that needs to be done...

Can anyone tell me what this means and how I can possibly fix this?

We know that installing a Custom ROM loses the unique features the Moto X has to offer like Active Display, Always Listening, Twist to Camera but why can't they be restored or implemented in other ROMS?
I have gotten the APKs and odex of those apps, and am tempted to install a custom ROM without these features and simply push them back to /system. Sounds to easy to actually work.

[Q] Rom install failed now can't boot topic

Hi guys, so my problem is I was installing a new rom on my rooted D855. everything was going along fine but then the process stalled. I left it running for 15 - 20 minutes but it was still on 33%. I tried holding the power button in desperation which shut the thing down. Now when I try to factory reset it goes to the prompt screen, I answer yes, then it asks me to confirm. from there however it goes to LG splash screen and eventually a black screen with Fastboot mode started. -reset- portcharge -reset- portcharge fastboot: processing commands in the top left corner. That's it.. If I try download mode it goes to the download screen and then to the black screen as described above.
Sounds pretty ordinary but if there is an answer out there I am sure one of you guys will know it.

So, I got this phone off of eBay when my myTouch 3G Slide started to take a crap, and now I want to unlock it off of T-Mobile and use it on Consumer Cellular. Can't do that. After some patty-cake with customer service (formerly known as "Have you tried turning it off and on again, sir?"), they told me that the previous owner had had it on a contract, and that contract has an "unsettled" balance on it, and I'd have to arrange a payment to get them to hand over the code. I don't want to do this. I just recently rooted the phone using this root method, by Masters2150, and I was wondering if I could muck around inside the roaming list and pull out the code myself?

What made me feel bad with google camera app is there are two area divided on the photo shown in the attachment
Meanwhile, the stock camera app was just fine as normal.

4.4.4 KitKat ROMS - Dialer freezes on i9505 International LTE topic

Hi All,

I'm wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem?

Basically, I was having wifi issues connecting to an enterprise WLAN with PEAP/MSCHAPV2, so I (stupidly) upgraded to the OTA 4.4.2 ROM, which would have been fine if it didn't kill battery life and randomly restart. I wasn't on this version long enough to know if it had the same issue that I will describe below.

So I threw caution and my warranty to the wind and went with the 4.4.4 Pacman ROM, which was great, but whenever I had a phone call, the phone screen freezes and won't wake up to allow me to hang up a call. The same thing would occur if I called someone and had to use their automated system - I'd put the screen on loudspeaker, open up the dialpad, and when I want to hit the numbers - nothing. Locked up. Can't hang up either.

I had the same issue on the 4.4.4 Cyanhacker ROM, so I believe that it is fully related to some sort of incompatibility between KitKat and the i9505, and not the ROMs themselves.

At this point I was successful in switching to the Darthstalker 4.3 ROM, which is running beautifully and I'm really liking it so far. It's also nice having the old phone and contacts apps back, because I really hated the Kitkat one anyway...

A couple days ago I shattered the screen on my s4, as well as the touchscreen, so it's useless. There are some pictures on there I need to recover but I can't get to them because they were hidden (no, not what you think lol). I cant download any apps to my phone nor enable the screen mirroring setting so I was wondering if there any way to find them in the filing system via my laptop or a program I can download to emulate my phone on my laptop. Thanks in advance.

Disabling mobile data and enabling it again does not work, too.

Odexed, ext4 for now (a little hacking could accomodate for F2FS), not rooted. If flashed with a current TWRP recovery, TWRP will offer to root it (which works).

I removed the proprietary terminal from the build (with the intent of compiling one from source eventually. Until then, one can be downloaded from f-droid), prepared for USB camera support (rather than a 'camera stub'), & audio_policy.conf changes (USB headset,etc- which probably isn't supported in the audio_hw.c file... yet), and a few other experimental changes.

After the first boot, this has the fastest boot time I've seen of any ROM I've tested.

How to revert back to Kitkat? topic

Ok so i was on Retail UK Kitkat 4.4.4 but then i flashed GPE 4.4.4 and then flashed Lolipop 4.4.4.

Flash Write Failure topic

I've just received another P7 to replace my broken and discarded device. The phone and HiSuite reports the device as being a P7-L10 build V100R001C00B121SP01. It is apparently "up to date". This surprises me as I know there are other builds.

I've managed to root the device with RootGenius and replaced Kinguser with SuperSU. However I can't flash a custom recovery! This is the output:

I've tried with twrp 2.7, cwm, and even a stock recovery. Same result.
The max download size strikes me as being way too big.
I've tried forcing an update with an L07 update app. But that just fails.

This phone lacks the ability to turn off 4G unlike my old L07 and I don't have the nasty "4G LTE" logo anymore.

I think the phone has been tampered with prior to my purchase as neither the phone or box match.

Does any one have any suggestions?
