[Q] Not enough space on device topic

Hi, I haven't been able to download or update my apps from Google Play Store for quite some time now, due to the following error: 'Not enough space on device'. I do have enough space on both internal memory as on the SD card.
I'm the (proud) owner of a Xiaomi Redrice (model HM1W)
Android version 4.2.2 HM2013023
MIUI version MIUI-JHBCNAH4.0

I don't know what other information you guys might need.

I really hope you guys can help!

Android Bug? More memory used than available. Not enough space error. KitKat. topic

Hello, this is really bugging me, I was hoping to have 8GB memory for apps and 32GB on my SD for obb's and stuff like that but Android 4.4 has the useless virtual SD card feature so the internal storage quickly fills up.
As far as I know, there is no app in the Google Play store that installs itself on the external SD card. But I read that you can copy the maps from TomTom to the external SD card to the Android/data/ folder. So I did that and it worked, freeing up allmost 3gb of internal storage space on my phone (Good news till here). But with the time the internal storage filled up and I reached a moment that I couldn't even update any app because Android was telling me that I don't have enough space. I looked in Settings > Storage and there was still 600MB free internal space, but the Applications bar was overflowing the graph as if there were no more space left.
Here is a screen shot [Note: Apps are taking more space than internal space is available?]:

I guess that this is what is causing the wrong "Not enough space" message. Clearing the cache from Google Services and Google Play Store sometimes helps if there is still more than 600 MB left, but now I'm completely stuck with 480MB and I cannot even update a 6MB app.

Does somebody know how to fix this? Is it me or every new Android version that comes out is just a worse better looking crap..?
Greetings.
INFO: I haven't rooted anything on my phone so everything is just stock.

M8 good enough to pull me away from '13 Moto X? topic

Currently have a Moto X Dev Edition, bought it back almost a year ago I believe. I like the phone but the camera sucks and the battery could be better. It's super slick and smooth, rarely have any issues with it except for Bluetooth from time to time. But I'm also already noticing a little bit of screen burn-in, and I'm not on my phone 24/7 either. I've always questioned Motorola's AMOLED screen quality, I had an S3 and S4 and those screens were great. Plus I miss having expandable memory so I don't have to stream all of my 20+ GB of music through Google Play Music...

Long story short, it's time to replace the X. I thought about the Turbo but the lack of voice/data usage, the marginally better camera, and reports of poor wifi reception are keeping me away, not to mention the brightness also is subpar. After having the S4 and all it's laggy problems, I said no more Samsung phones, but it seems the S5 is greatly improved. However I've always had my eye on the G3, seems like LG has stepped up their game. I also had the Rezound when it came out and it was probably one of the best phones I've owned, and I didn't know the M8 supported expandable memory, I thought it was built-in only. My choices right now are the One M8, S5, G3, and possibly the Note 4 but that's pushing the size limit a little bit. My only concern with the M8 is possibly battery life and the fact that it's a tall phone.

Thoughts?
